What should I know about attending the 2019 QM Connect Conference?

Who should attend?

If you are committed to quality assurance in higher education, K-12, educational publishing or continuing and professional education, there will be content for you.

  • Institutional Leaders (President, Chancellor, Provost, Vice President, Principal, Superintendent, etc.)
  • Program Administrators (Dean, Director, Manager, Coordinator, Assistant Principal, etc.)
  • Faculty (Course Instructor, Adjunct, Facilitator, etc.)
  • Instructional Support Staff (Instructional Designer, Instructional Technologist, etc.)

When are the pre-conference workshops?

Pre-conference workshops are Sunday, October 27. Full-day workshops will run 8 AM - 5 PM. Half-day workshops will run 8 AM - noon and 1 PM - 5 PM. Breakfast and lunch are included for those attending a full-day or two half-day workshops. See pricing >>

Who should register for the Newcomer's Breakfast?

The Newcomer's breakfast is for those who are new to Quality Matters. There is no charge for this event, but you do need to register.

When does the conference begin and end?

The conference will begin with pre-conference workshops (separate fee) on Sunday, October 27, followed by a reception that evening (nominal fee), from 6 PM - 7:30 PM. Sessions will begin Monday morning, October 28 and run through noon, Wednesday, October 30.

What does the conference registration fee cover?

The registration fee includes all sessions Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It also covers breakfast, lunch and breaks Monday and Tuesday as well as breakfast and a break on Wednesday. The Sunday evening reception is optional for an additional $15 fee (selected during registration). Registration does not cover dinners. See pricing and how to get the best rate >>

Where are we staying for the conference?

The conference is being held at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas. Rooms are $199 plus tax per night. The link to reserve your room will be posted in May.

  1. Avoid “room block pirates” looking to take advantage of you if you book your room through some other method.

How do I get from DFW airport to the Gaylord Texan?

Travel from DFW to the Gaylord Texan is less than 8 minutes.

The hotel does not have a shuttle.

How do I get from Love Field to the Gaylord Texan?

Travel from Love Field to the Gaylord Texan takes approximately 25 minutes.

How about hotel parking?

The hotel offers both self and valet parking.

What is there to do in Grapevine and the surrounding area? Lots!


There is a shuttle from the Gaylord Texan to Grapevine provided by Grapevine, TX.

There are shops for browsing and wineries as well as many good restaurants in town.  Check out their website.
