Facilitating Meaningful Learner Engagement (FMLE)
This workshop concentrates on personalizing instruction based on learner needs and data-driven insights. It covers creating learner profiles, implementing assistive technologies, monitoring student progress, and adapting instruction based on ongoing assessment.
This workshop aligns with NSQ Standard D: Learner-Centered Instruction.
- Design comprehensive learner profiles that reflect academic strengths and needs, social-emotional considerations, cultural context, and technology access to guide learner-centered instructional decisions.
- Analyze multiple sources of learner data to identify patterns, early warning indicators, and barriers to engagement, and use those insights to plan responsive instructional and support strategies.
- Develop a learner-centered support plan that integrates learner profiles, data-informed interventions, assistive technologies, progress monitoring, and stakeholder collaboration to continuously adapt instruction and promote equitable outcomes.
Ability to read and write standard business English.
- 10-15 hours to complete at their own pace during the three-week period
- Computer with internet access
Workshops open monthly on the first Wednesday and close after three weeks. The work is self-paced with a portfolio assignment submitted to a facilitator upon completion (prior to workshop closure).
