SB 569 and Beyond: Ensuring Quality in Hybrid and Virtual Learning with QM

Presented by Pam Shaw, Director of K-12 Quality Assurance, and Suzie Scheffler, K-12 Community Engagement Manager, at Quality Matters

Senate Bill 569 opens the door for Texas districts to expand access to hybrid and virtual learning, but it also requires leaders to ensure that every course aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and meets the National Standards for Quality Online Courses (NSQ). How can districts achieve compliance, maintain rigor and support teachers?

This session introduces Quality Matters (QM) and its K-12 Rubric, a tool directly tied to the NSQ Course Standards, that helps districts meet course quality requirements. Participants will also learn how QM’s professional development opportunities — aligned with both the NSQ for Online Courses and the NSQ for Online Teaching — equip educators to design and deliver engaging, TEKS-aligned instruction in virtual and hybrid environments.

Join us to explore how QM can help your district meet SB 569 requirements while building sustainable, high-quality learning options for Texas students.

Webinar begins at 2:00 p.m. ET, 1:00 p.m. CT, 12:00 p.m. MT, 11:00 a.m. PT
