Meeting accessibility needs for learners is critical for course quality and demonstrates a commitment to best practices in teaching. Education professionals in need of support for making course materials accessible can get hands-on experience in these workshops.
Many higher ed and K-12 educators are working to meet accessibility guidelines and deadlines related to the 2024 DOJ Accessibility Rule that requires public institutions to follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards. These workshops offer a flexible format for mastering accessibility standards through expert-guided learning.
The collection of three self-paced online workshops is designed to empower educators and publishing professionals with cutting-edge accessibility knowledge and practical skills. Plus, you'll earn a certificate for each workshop you complete and receive a “Winter Retreat 2025/26 Certificate” when you complete all three.
Participants who complete this package will be able to:
- Apply accessibility principles in real-world educational contexts.
- Design accessible content and structure for a variety of educational documents.
- Use AI to assist with accessibility.
- Classify accessibility tools suitable for educational materials.
- Select appropriate accessibility evaluation tools for higher ed and K-12.
