NC State University's Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA) has collaborated with 65 instructors to apply the Quality Matters course design standards to a single online or hybrid course, resulting in QM certification for all submitted courses. To measure the wider impact of participation, we asked faculty to reflect on what they had learned about course design and how they had applied that knowledge in additional courses.

We use three models for multi-media in our courses: videos of faculty created while collaborating with a video production specialist, student created videos, and faculty “lectures”. We will discuss these models and the successes and challenges we faced in creating multi-media for our courses.

The 3 C's online strategic planning framework is comprised of course quality, capacity, and culture. This framework touches all of the areas necessary to create a strategic plan for online programming at any level. A fully-realized plan will be presented using strategic planning software.
Using a course that was continuously improved over a 5 year period as an example, this session will explore strategies for effective course enhancement by following an iterative process. Participants will learn practical steps to examine student feedback, reimagine course content and develop innovative course enhancements, and set realistic development timelines. The session will end with small group discussions where participants develop their own wish list of improvements and receive feedback.
